REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.

WARNING: This vehicle is equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint SIR. Refer to WARNINGS in "Service Precautions."

2. Disable SIR.
3. Steering column covers.
4. Shift lever clevis.
5. Shift lever from assembly.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Shift lever.
2. Shift lever clevis.
3. Steering column covers.
4. Enable SIR.
5. Negative battery cable.
6. After shift lever is installed, check in all positions for positive engagement of shift gate.
