Power Steering Pressure Control Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
2. Install a drain pan under the inlet power steering pipe.
3. Remove the inlet power steering pipe from the Electronic Variable Orifice (EVO) Solenoid.
4. Let the power steering fluid drain into the drain pan.
5. Electrical Connector from the EVO Solenoid.
NOTE: Note the position of the electrical terminal for the proper placement of the fluid flow actuator during installation.
6. Position the oil cooler lines away from the fluid flow actuator as necessary.
7. With a wrench, remove the EVO Solenoid from the power steering pump.
8. The retaining clip from the backside of the actuator.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Remove the drain pan and discard the oil.
2. The retaining clip to the new actuator.
3. With a wrench, install the EVO Solenoid to the power steering pump. Tighten to 62 Nm (46 ft. lbs.).
4. The oil cooler lines to the vehicle.
5. Electrical connector to the EVO Solenoid.
6. Inlet power steering pipe to the EVO Solenoid. Tighten to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Fill the power steering reservoir with power steering fluid to the FULL mark on the dipstick.
9. Bleed the power steering system.
