Calibration

The compass is self-calibration elimination the need to manually set the compass. For a short time when the vehicle is new, the compass may appear to operate erratically and the "CAL" symbol will be displayed. However, to correct the problem, drive the vehicle in a circle of three (3) 360 degree turns. Then, the "CAL" symbol will turn off and the compass will function normally.

If a new compass is installed, calibration is accomplished by a procedure similar to that described above.

Adjust
1. Turn ignition "ON."
2. Depress and hold both "ON/OFF" and "US/MET" buttons for approximately 10 seconds or until display reads "CAL."
3. Drive vehicle in a circle of three 360 degree turns. The "CAL" symbol will turn off when the compass is calibrated and function will be normal.
