Water Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Coolant from the radiator.
2. Mass air flow sensor clamp.
3. Air filter housing.
4. Upper fan shroud bolts.
5. Upper fan shroud.
6. Drive belt.
7. Fan and fan blade clutch assembly.
8. Water pump pulley.
9. Clamps and hoses from water pump.
10. Four water pump bolts.
11. Water pump.
12. Gaskets.
^ Inspect all parts and replace as necessary.

NOTE: Make sure all mating surfaces are free of burrs or other imperfections.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Gaskets.
2. Water pump.
3. Four bolts retaining the water pump.
^ Tighten Bolts to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
4. Clamps and hoses.
5. Water pump pulley.
^ Tighten Bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
6. Fan and fan blade clutch assembly.
7. Drive belt.
8. Upper fan shroud.
9. Air filter housing.
10. Clamp.
11. Coolant to the radiator.
