Engine Block Heater: Description and Operation

The optional engine coolant heater preheats engine coolant to aid cold weather starting. The engine coolant heater operates on 110-volt AC power and uses a heating element that is installed in the water passage of the engine block. The heating element warms the coolant as long as the heater cord is plugged into an AC power source.

The unit has a detachable electrical cord. If the heater fails to operate, check the cord, connections and power supply before replacing the heating element.
