Equalizer And Rear Cables:

Remove or Disconnect
1. Raise the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
2. Spring from equalizer.
3. Loosen the equalizer.
4. Connector at front cable.
5. Brake drum and shoe assembly. Refer to Brake Shoe, Service and Repair. Service and Repair
^ Bend in the cable-retaining fingers at the backing plate.
6. Rear cable.

Install or Connect
1. Rear cable into backing plate.
^ Make sure all retaining fingers are completely through the backing plate.
2. Brake shoes and drum assembly. Refer to Brake Shoe, Service and Repair.
3. Connector.
4. Spring to equalizer.
5. Adjust parking brake cable. Refer to Parking Brake Cable, Adjustments. Adjustments
