Backing Plate: Service and Repair

Backing Plate Replacement:

Remove or Disconnect
1. Brake linings. Refer to Brake Shoe, Service and Repair. Service and Repair
2. Wheel cylinder. Refer to Wheel Cylinder, Service and Repair. Service and Repair
3. Axle shaft. Refer to Steering and Suspension.
4. Bolts (31) and washers (32).
5. Backing plate (29).

Install or Connect
1. Backing plate (29).
2. Bolts (31) and washers (32).

^ Tighten Bolts (31) to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).

3. Axle shaft. Refer to Steering and Suspension.
4. Wheel cylinder. Refer to Wheel Cylinder Service and Repair.
5. Brake linings. Refer to Brake Shoe, Service and Repair. Service and Repair
6. Bleed brakes. Refer to Hydraulic System, Service and Repair. Service and Repair
