Kelsey-Hayes Electronic Brake Control Module:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) initializes a self-test when the ignition is turned to the RUN position. The EBCM self-test verifies all internal circuitry within the EBCM is operating correctly.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING DTC
Any condition within the EBCM which causes a memory error.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN DTC IS SET
- ANTILOCK indicator lamp is illuminated
- ABS is disabled

NOTE: This Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is a Permanent Latched DTC which indicates the above is true until the DTC is cleared using a scan tool.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
DTCs C0071 through C0074 are EBCM internal diagnosis. The EBCM must be replaced if these tests show the EBCM circuitry has failed.

2. Check if EBCM will clear DTCs.
3. Check if DTC has been set previously.
