DTC C0036 Circuit Diagram:





CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The rear wheel speed signal originates from the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) which is connected to the Vehicle Control Module (VCM). The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) receives the rear wheel speed signal from the VCM.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING DTC
EBCM loses the rear wheel speed signal for at least 5 seconds at speeds over 13 km/h (8 mph) with the brake pedal released.

NOTE: If a DTC C0035 is also stored, use that diagnostic chart.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
- ANTILOCK indicator lamp is illuminated
- Antilock Brake System (ABS) is disabled

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
This DTC can be set by a faulty VSS or a fault in circuit 821, 822, or 1827

DTC C0036 Diagnostic Chart:





NOTE: Number(s) below refer to number(s) on the diagnostic chart.

1. Measure the voltage at terminal E of the 10-way EBCM harness connector.
3. Check for an open in circuit 1827.
5. Check for a short to ground in circuit 1827.
