Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection
FUEL INJECTOR AND POPPET NOZZLESA fuel injector or poppet nozzle which does not open, may cause a no-start condition. An injector and poppet nozzle, which is stuck open, could cause loss of pressure after sitting, so long crank times would be noticed. Also, dieseling could occur because some fuel could be delivered to the engine after the key is turned "OFF".
For testing the fuel injector system, refer to Procedures / Diagnostic Charts / Chart A-4 Injector Circuit Diagnosis, Chart A-7 Poppet Nozzle Diagnosis, Chart A-8 Injector Coil Test Procedure. Testing and Inspection
