The 1985 2.8L V6 engine uses an "O" ring, P/N 14083381, to seal the oil pump transfer passage from the rear main bearing cap to the cylinder block. Any time the rear main bearing cap is removed, the "O" ring must be replaced.

The "O" ring fits into a machined groove in the cylinder block (See Illustration #1.) The rear main bearing cap must also be sealed to the block in the normal manner using anaerobic sealer P/N 1052756 or equivalent, plus the "O" ring (See Illustration #2.)
