1. Remove air cleaner, then disconnect rubber hose from plenum connecting pipe.
2. Disconnect four pipe check valve fittings from cylinder head and remove check valve pipes from plenum grommets.
3. Assemble replacement valves to pipe, then install pipe check valve assemblies to cylinder head and finger tighten fittings.

NOTE: To ease assembly, apply a suitable rubber lubricant to grommets.

4. Using a suitable tool as a lever, align check valve to plenum grommet and install valve into grommet, Fig 36.
5. Torque fittings to specified torque, Fig 35. install air cleaner and hose.
