98. Clutch Pilot Bearing Installation

Clutch Pilot Bearing Installation (LS9 Only)

Special Tools
* DT-49805 - Bolts
* J 24420-C - Crankshaft Balancer Puller
* J 45949 - Pilot Bearing and Flywheel Locator Installer

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Special Tools).




1. Position the bearing to the rear of the crankshaft.
2. Assemble the J 24420-C - crankshaft balancer puller (2), the J 45949 - pilot bearing and flywheel locator installer (1), and the DT-49805 - bolts (3) to the rear of the crankshaft.
Tighten the bolts until snug.
3. Rotate the bolt of the J 24420-C - crankshaft balancer puller (2) until the bearing is seated in the bore of the crankshaft.
4. Remove the tools.




5. Inspect the clutch pilot bearing for proper installation.
