Transmission Fluid Cooler Upper Pipe Replacement - Rear
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the driveline tunnel closeout panel.
3. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
Important:
* The front transmission fluid cooler pipes connect to the rear transmission fluid cooler pipes near at the rear of the engine next to the starter motor.
* Cap or plug the open transmission fluid cooler pipes immediately to prevent system contamination.
Disconnect the rear transmission fluid cooler upper pipe from the front transmission fluid cooler upper pipe.
4. Disconnect the rear transmission fluid cooler upper pipe from the transmission.
5. Remove the transmission fluid cooler pipes clip.
6. Remove the rear transmission fluid cooler upper pipe retaining bolts from the driveline support.
Important: Spread the clamps holding the two pipes together to remove the pipe from the vehicle.
7. Disconnect the rear transmission fluid cooler upper pipe from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Connect the rear transmission fluid cooler upper pipe to the transmission.
2. Connect the rear transmission fluid cooler upper pipe to the front transmission fluid cooler upper pipe.
3. Install the transmission fluid cooler pipes clip.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the rear transmission fluid cooler upper pipe retaining bolts to the driveline support.
Tighten the bolt to 12 N.m (9 lb ft).
5. Check the transmission fluid level, add fluid if necessary.
6. Remove the drain pan.
7. Remove the driveline tunnel closeout panel.
8. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
