Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER REPLACEMENT (SEDAN)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the EVAP canister vent valve hose.
4. Disconnect the vapor line from the fuel tank to the EVAP canister.
5. Disconnect the purge line from the EVAP canister.




6. Remove the screw in the EVAP canister mounting pad on the fuel tank and slide the EVAP canister upward off of the mount.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Slide the new EVAP canister onto the mount on the fuel tank.
2. Install the screw into the EVAP canister mount to secure the canister to the fuel tank.
3. Connect purge line to the EVAP canister.
4. Connect the vapor line from the fuel tank to the EVAP canister.
5. Connect the EVAP canister vent valve hose to the vent valve.
6. Install the fuel tank back in the vehicle.
