Liftgate Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open and support the liftgate.
2. Remove the liftgate trim panel.
3. Remove the liftgate wiring harness.
4. Place protective coverings over adjacent body panels.
5. Use a grease pencil to mark the location of the liftgate hinge to the liftgate.
6. Remove the struts from the liftgate.
7. With the aid of an assistant, remove the bolts from the liftgate hinge.




8. With the aid of an assistant, remove the liftgate from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. With the aid of an assistant, align marks on liftgate with liftgate hinges.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. With the aid of an assistant, install the liftgate hinge bolts.

Tighten the hinge bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the liftgate struts.
4. Remove the protective coverings.
5. Install the liftgate wiring harness.
6. Install the liftgate trim panels.
7. Remove the support and close the liftgate.
