Differential Cooler Pump Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Drain the rear axle.
3. Remove the rear mufflers.
4. Remove the cooler inlet pipe.
5. Remove the cooler outlet pipe.
6. Important: Note the location of the cover rear bolt/stud for assembly and the alignment of the outshaft of the differential and the input shaft for the pump.
Remove the mounting bolts 3 for the differential cooler pump 4.
7. Remove the differential cooler pump 4.
8. Remove the O-ring 1.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the O-ring 1.
2. Important: Note the alignment of the pinion shaft and input shaft of the pump. If the shafts do not line up, rotate the input shaft for the pump. If they are not aligned properly, the pump will not be seated correctly in the differential housing. Also, note the location of the bolt/stud for the proper installation
Install the differential cooler pump 4.
3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the retaining bolts
^ Tighten the differential cooler mounting bolts 3 to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
4. Install the cooler outlet pipe.
5. Install the cooler inlet pipe.
6. Install the rear mufflers.
7. Fill the differential assembly.
8. Lower the vehicle.
