Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Tilt up the upper trim cover (1) and remove the nuts (2) from the instrument panel seal.
3. Remove the upper trim cover.





4. Remove the lower trim cover screws (2) from the lower trim cover (3).
5. Lower the steering column rake lever (1) to lower the steering column and fully telescope the column toward the driver.
6. Remove the lower trim cover (3).

Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the lower trim cover (3) onto the steering column. Install the lower trim cover screws (2) into the lower trim cover (3).
^ Tighten the lower trim cover screws (2) to 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.).





2. Install the upper trim cover (1) and install the instrument panel seal retaining nuts (2).
3. Install the upper trim cover (2) onto the steering column. Install the instrument panel seal retaining nuts (1) onto the upper trim cover (2).
4. Enable the SIR system.
