Hard Top Headliner Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the windshield side garnish moldings.




2. Remove the trim panels from the front side of the rear compartment.
3. Support the headlining.




4. Remove the retainer from the center of the rear edge of the headlining.




5. Remove the sunshades.
6. Remove the sunshade bezels.
7. Remove the sunshade supports.
8. Remove the headlining.

Installation Procedure






Caution: Do not attempt to repair or alter the head impact energy-absorbing material glued to the headliner or to the garnish trims. If the material is damaged, replace the headliner and/or the garnish trim. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

1. Install the headlining to the vehicle.
2. Support the headlining.
3. Install the retainer securing the rear edge of the headlining.




4. Route the sunshade electrical connection through the headlining and the sunshade bezel.
5. Install the sunshade bezels.
Insert the bezel into the opening until the snap fingers engage.
6. Install the sunshades.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

7. Install the sunshade retainers.

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (17 lb in).

8. Remove the headlining temporary support.




9. Install the windshield side garnish moldings.




10. Install the trim panels to the front side of the rear compartment.
11. Reposition the inside lip of the upper weatherstrips on the door window over the edge of the headlining.
