Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE



1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector (2).

2. Remove the following components from the bulkhead
^ The 4 bolts
^ The wiper motor (1)




3. Connect the claw (2) of the windshield wiper transmission (1) to the bulkhead (3).

IMPORTANT: Do not service the wiper motor crank arm separately. Do not disconnect the wiper motor crank arm from the wiper motor. The crank arm is positioned on the wiper motor in order to allow the wiper arms to return to their normal park position.

4. Gently pry the wiper transmission (1) from the wiper motor crank arm.
5. Remove the wiper motor (4) from the vehicle.




INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the windshield wiper transmission to the wiper motor crank arm.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the windshield wiper motor (1) to the bulkhead. Secure the wiper motor with the 4 bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the windshield wiper motor bolts to 5.5 N.m (49 lb in).

3. Connect the wiper motor electrical connector (2).
