Automatic Transmission-4 Speed-MS7

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





2. Remove the 6 bolts and left splash shield (1) from the vehicle.
3. Place a drain pan or suitable container under the transaxle fluid cooler.
4. Remove the 1 clamp and the fluid cooler inlet hose from the transaxle fluid cooler.
5. Remove the 1 clamp and the fluid cooler outlet hose from the transaxle fluid cooler.
6. Remove the 1 clamp and the fluid cooler inlet hose from the fluid cooler inlet pipe.
7. Remove the 1 clamp and the fluid cooler outlet hose from the fluid cooler outlet pipe.
8. Loosen the inlet and out let fluid cooler pipe flare nuts.
9. Remove the 1 bolt, the fluid cooler pipe bracket and the fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipes front the transaxle.
10. Inspect the transaxle fluid cooler hoses for leaks or fatigue. Replace as necessary.
11. Inspect the fluid cooler pipes for kinks, leaks or other damage. Replace as necessary.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install or connect the fluid cooler inlet pipe, outlet pipe and bracket to the transaxle. Secure the transaxle with 1 bolt. Do not tighten fully.
^ Tighten the inlet and outlet fluid cooler pipe flare nuts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.)
^ Tighten the fluid cooler pipe bracket bolt to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.)

2. Install the fluid cooler outlet hose to the fluid cooler outlet pipe. Secure the pipe with the 1 clamp.
3. Install the fluid cooler inlet hose to the fluid cooler inlet pipe. Secure with the 1 clamp.
4. Install the fluid cooler outlet hose to the transaxle fluid cooler. Secure with the 1 clamp.
5. Install the fluid cooler inlet hose to the transaxle fluid cooler. Secure with the 1 clamp.
6. Remove the drain pan from under the transaxle fluid cooler.





7. Install left splash shield (1) to the vehicle. Secure with 6 bolts.
^ Tighten the left splash shield bolts to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Refill the transaxle, as necessary. Refer to Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure. Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure
