General Description

CamShaft Position (CMP) Sensor:

The Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor is located in the cylinder head next to the number 4 fuel injector. The CMP sensor is a signal generator that is composed of a magnet, a coil, and an iron core. The powertrain control module relies on the AC signal from the CMP sensor in order to optimize ignition timing and detect engine misfire.
