Heater Case Replacement


REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.
3. Remove the heater hoses at the heater core.
4. Remove the Instrument Panel (IP) assembly.
5. Remove the IP reinforcement.
6. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
7. Disconnect the blower motor resistor electrical connector (4).




8. Separate the rear heater ducts (1) from the heater case.
9. Remove the 6 heater case nuts.
10. Pull the heater case forward and remove from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the heater case to the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the 6 heater case nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the rear heater ducts (1) to the heater case.




4. Connect the blower motor resistor electrical connector (4).
5. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
6. Install the IP reinforcement.
7. Install the IP assembly.
8. Install the heater hoses to the heater core.
9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
