Radiator Cooling Fan Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine cooling system to below the level of the thermostat. Refer to Cooling System Service and Repair.
3. Remove the generator.
4. Remove the fan control switch electrical connector.





5. Remove the fan control switch (2) from the thermostat housing.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the fan control switch (2) to the thermostat housing.
- Tighten the fan control switch to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).

2. Install the fan control switch electrical connector.
3. Install the generator.
4. Refill the engine cooling system.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
