P/S Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Raise the vehicle.
3. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering cooler pipe.
4. Remove the power steering return line (4) from the power steering gear (2).
5. Remove the clamp holding the power steering return line to the power steering gear.
6. Remove the power steering cooler pipe retaining bolts (3) from the frame.
7. Remove the power steering cooler pipe (1) from the frame.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the power steering cooler pipe to the frame (1).
Install the power steering cooler pipe retaining bolts to the frame.
- Tighten the power steering cooler pipe retaining bolts to 9.5 Nm (86 inch lbs.).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the clamp to the power steering gear to hold the power steering lines to the power steering gear.
3. Install the power steering return line (4) to the power steering gear (2).
- Tighten the power steering return line fitting to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering cooler pipe.
5. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Fill the power steering system.
8. Bleed the power steering system.
9. Check the power steering system for leaks.
