Exhaust Heat Shield Replacement (Front)

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.

Notice: To prevent internal damage to the flexible coupling of the catalytic converter assembly, the converter must be supported. The vertical movement at the rear of the catalytic converter assembly must not exceed 6 degrees up or down.

2. Suitably support the exhaust system.
3. Remove the three way catalytic converter for access.
4. Remove the exhaust pipe front heat shield bolts.
5. Remove the exhaust pipe front heat shield.


Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the exhaust pipe front heat shield with the bolts:
- Tighten the exhaust pipe front heat shield bolts to 7.5 Nm (66.38 inch lbs.).

2. Install the three way catalytic converter.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Inspect the exhaust system for leaks and underbody contact.
