Oil Cooler Inlet Line Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Drain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Disconnect the knock sensor electrical wiring harness connector. Refer to Knock Sensor Replacement in Powertrain Management.
4. Remove the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (with Oil Cooler).





5. Disconnect the oil cooler outlet hose from the oil cooler.





6. Remove the oil cooler connector.





7. Remove oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler.





8. Remove the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler inlet hose from the oil cooler hose fitting.





9. If necessary, remove the oil cooler hose fitting.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. If removed, install the oil cooler hose fitting.
- Tighten the oil cooler hose fitting to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).





2. Install the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler inlet hose to the oil cooler hose fitting.





3. Install oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler. Make sure that the seal is in place. Coat the seal with engine oil.





4. Install the oil cooler connector.
- Tighten the oil cooler connector to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).





5. Connect the oil cooler outlet hose to the oil cooler.





6. Install the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (with Oil Cooler).
7. Connect the knock sensor electrical wiring harness connector. Refer to Knock Sensor Replacement in Powertrain Management.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
10. Add engine oil as necessary. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (with Oil Cooler).
11. Inspect the oil cooler for leaks.
