Coolant Heater Cord Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the engine coolant heater cord from the engine coolant heater.
3. Carefully cut the engine coolant heater cord straps at the engine wiring harness.
4. Lower the vehicle.





5. Remove the engine coolant heater cord from the diagonal brace strap.
6. Remove the engine coolant heater cord.


Installation Procedure





1. The engine coolant heater cord must not touch the engine, hot pipes, manifold, or any moving parts. Secure the engine coolant heater cord with tie straps as required.
Install the engine coolant heater cord to the vehicle.
2. Install the engine coolant heater cord to the diagonal brace strap. Position the engine coolant heater cord behind the headlamp assembly.





3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
4. Install new engine coolant heater cord straps at the engine wiring harness.
5. Connect the engine coolant heater cord to the engine coolant heater.
6. Lower the vehicle.
