Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement - Front
REMOVAL PROCEDURE^ Tools Required
- J 36721 Front Caliper Bracket Torx Bit
1. Remove the caliper.
2. Remove the caliper mounting bracket bolts (1) using the J 36721.
3. Remove the caliper mounting bracket.
4. Remove the bushings from the mounting bracket.
5. Inspect the bracket for cracks. Replace the bracket if necessary.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
CAUTION: These fasteners MUST be replaced with new fasteners anytime they become loose or are removed. Failure to replace these fasteners after they become loose or are removed may cause loss of vehicle control and personal injury.
1. Lubricate the new bushings (2) with silicone grease.
2. Install the bushings (2) into the anchor bracket (1).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the caliper mounting bracket with the mounting bolts (1) using the J 36721.
^ Tighten the caliper bracket mounting bolts to 200 Nm (148 lb ft).
4. Install the caliper.
