Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURENOTE: The EVAP canister may have released carbon particles which caused this part to fail and may cause damage to other components. Check the EVAP canister for loose carbon before returning the vehicle to service.
1. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector (3) from the EVAP canister vent solenoid (2).
3. Disconnect the two vapor hoses from the EVAP canister vent solenoid (2).
4. Remove the one screw and the EVAP canister vent solenoid (2) from the EVAP canister (1).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Align the tab on the EVAP canister vent solenoid to the slot on the EVAP canister.
2. Secure the EVAP canister vent solenoid (2) to the EVAP canister (1) with the screw.
3. Connect the two vapor hoses to the EVAP canister vent solenoid (2).
4. Connect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector (3) to the EVAP canister vent solenoid (2).
5. Install the fuel tank to the vehicle.
