Discharge Hose Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. The discharge pipe is a 2-piece assembly. Replace either piece or both as necessary. Remove the bolt and the discharge pipe (3) from the compressor.
3. Remove the nut and the discharge pipe at the condenser block fitting.
4. Remove the bolt from the fan mounting bracket.
5. Disconnect the pipe fitting at the condenser inlet.
6. Remove the discharge pipe from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Coat new O-rings with mineral base 525 Viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. Install the O-rings to the discharge pipe (3).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Connect the pipe fitting at the condenser inlet.
Tighten
Tighten the pipe fitting to 9.8 N.m (86.74 lb in).
4. Install the bolt to the fan mounting bracket.
5. Install the discharge pipe to the condenser block fitting. Secure with the nut.
Tighten
Tighten the condenser block fitting nut to 9.8 N.m (86.74 lb in).
6. Install the discharge pipe (3) to the compressor. Secure with the bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9.8 N.m (86.74 lb in).
7. Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning (A/C) system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
8. Operate the A/C system and inspect for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
