Power Steering Return Hose Replacement (Pipe)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Remove the drive belt from the power steering pump. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in engine.
2. Remove the power steering hose nut (1) and retainer (2).





3. Remove the power steering return hose (3) from the power steering return pipe (2).
4. Remove the power steering return pipe (2) from the power steering pump.
5. Remove the power steering return pipe (2) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the power steering return pipe (2) to the power steering pump (1).
- Tighten the return pipe nut to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the power steering return hose (3) to the power steering return pipe (2).
- Tighten the fitting to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).





3. Install the power steering hose retainer (2) and nut (1).
- Tighten the nut to 5 Nm (45 inch lbs.).
4. Install the drive belt to the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in engine.
5. Bleed the air from the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System.
