Output Shaft: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the appropriate rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.
3. Remove the appropriate drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement.
4. Remove the differential output shaft seal. Take care not to damage any sealing surfaces.
Installation Procedure

^ J 36797 Output Shaft Seal Installer
1. Using the J 36797, install the differential output shaft seal.
2. Install the drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement.
3. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.
4. Lower the vehicle.
