Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble

ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE





1. Install the upper shroud (1).
2. Secure the upper shroud (1) with 2 TORX(R) head screws (2).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

- Tighten the 2 TORX(R) head screws to 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.).





3. Perform the following steps to install the lower shroud:
3.1. Check that the slots on the lower shroud engage with the tabs on the upper shroud.
3.2. Tilt the lower shroud up and snap the shrouds together.





4. Install the 2 TORX(R) head screws (1) to the lower shroud.

- Tighten the 2 TORX(R) head screws to 3.5 Nm (31 inch lbs.).





5. Remove the steering column from J 41352.
6. Remove J 41352from the vise.
7. Push the tilt lever into the lower shroud.
