Power Steering Fluid Cooler: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lift Points.
3. Disconnect the power steering cooler pipe outlet hose from the reservoir and drain.
4. Disconnect the power steering cooler pipe hose from the power steering gear.
5. Remove the bolts securing the power steering cooler pipe to the crossmember.
6. Remove the power steering cooler pipe from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the power steering cooler pipe bolts into the crossmember.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
- Tighten the power steering cooler pipe mounting bolts to the crossmember to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).
2. Connect the power steering cooler pipe hose to the power steering gear.
- Tighten the power steering cooler pipe hose fitting to the power steering gear to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the power steering cooler pipe hose to the power steering reservoir.
4. Remove the drain pan and lower the vehicle.
5. Refill the power steering fluid reservoir.
6. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System.
