Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement (Right)

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution In Service Precautions.





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the right hand fuel rail cover.





3. Remove the secondary Air Injection (AIR) hose from the exhaust manifold using the following steps:
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the pipe.
- Remove the gasket.
4. Disconnect the AIR hose from the check valve.





5. Remove the PCV hoses from the breather pipes in valve rocker arm cover.





6. Remove the spark plug wires from the ignition coils.
7. Disconnect the ignition coil main wire harness connector.





8. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the valve rocker arm cover.





2. Install the spark plug wires to the coils.
3. Connect the ignition coil main wire harness connector.





4. Connect the PCV hoses to the breather pipes in valve rocker arm cover.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





5. Install the AIR pipe to the exhaust manifold using the following steps:
- Install the gasket.
- Install the pipe.
- Install the bolts. Tighten Tighten the bolt to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
6. Connect the AIR hose to the check valve.





7. Install the fuel rail cover.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
- Tighten the negative battery cable bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
9. Program the Transmitters.
