Cylinder Head Replacement - Left
Removal Procedure- Tools Required
- J25034-B Pump Pulley Remover
- J25033-B Pump Pulley Installer
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.
3. Remove the LH exhaust manifold from the cylinder head.
4. Remove the intake manifold.
5. Remove the vapor vent pipe.
6. Remove the power steering pump pulley using J25034-B Pump Pulley Remover.
7. Remove power steering pump and bracket.
8. Reposition the power steering pump and reservoir assembly.
9. Remove the ground wire bolt from the rear of the cylinder head.
10. Remove the LH cylinder head.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the LH cylinder head.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the ground wire and bolt to the rear of the head.
- Tighten the ground wire bolt to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.).
Important: Install the upper accessory mounting bracket bolts loosely to the bracket to insure proper alignment when tightening.
3. Install the accessory mounting bracket to the engine.
4. Install the lower accessory mounting bracket bolts.
- Tighten the accessory mounting bracket bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the power steering pump to the accessory mounting bracket.
6. Install the power steering pump bolts.
- Tighten the pump mounting bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the power steering reservoir and bolts to the accessory mounting bracket.
- Tighten the power steering reservoir bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the power steering pump pulley to the pump using J25033-B Pump Pulley Installer.
9. Install the exhaust manifold.
10. Install the valve rocker arm cover.
11. Install the vapor vent pipe.
12. Install the intake manifold.
13. Connect the negative battery cable.
- Tighten the bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
14. Program the Transmitters.
15. Inspect for any leaks.
