Defroster Actuator Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel pad.
3. Remove the passenger side SIR module.
4. Remove the vacuum hose from the actuator.
5. Remove the clip that attaches the actuator to the module.
6. Remove the actuator arm from the valve.
7. Remove the defroster vacuum actuator from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the actuator arm to the valve.
2. Clip the actuator body to the module.
3. Install the vacuum hose to the actuator.
4. Install the passenger side SIR module.
5. Install the instrument panel trim pad.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten
Tighten the negative battery cable to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
