On-Vehicle Service

Starter Mounting:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Air inlet duct to throttle body.
3. Top starter bolt.
4. Raise vehicle.
5. Lower closeout panel.
6. Lower starter bolt.
7. Position engine wiring harness aside.
8. Position starter for access to solenoid wiring.
9. Electrical wiring.
10. Starter.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Electrical wiring.

Tighten
^ Cable to solenoid 12 N.m (106 lb in).

2. Position starter to engine.
3. Lower starter bolt.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 90 N.m (66 lb ft).

4. Reposition engine wiring harness.
5. Lower closeout panel.
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Top starter bolt.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 90 N.m (66 lb ft)

8. Air inlet duct to throttle body.
9. Negative battery cable.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
