Engine Block Heater: Testing and Inspection

If the engine coolant heater fails to heat the coolant, check all electrical connections before proceeding.
^ Check for 110 volt AC external power source.
^ Check continuity and shorts to ground of engine block heater cord. Replace cord as required.
^ The heating element should indicate continuity with an ohmmeter.
