Side Bearing Race and Shim Disassemble

^ Tools Required:
- J 42194 Differential Bearing Race Remover





1. Remove the right differential side bearing outer race from the right differential carrier cover using J 42194 and a hydraulic press. Discard the bearing race.
2. Remove the right side shim pack from the right differential carrier cover.
3. Tag the shim pack to indicate the position it was removed from.





4. Remove the left differential side bearing outer race from the differential carrier using J 42194 and a hydraulic press. Discard the bearing race.
5. Remove the left side shim pack from the differential case.
6. Tag the shim pack to indicate the position it was removed from.
