Differential Carrier Covers Clean and Inspect (Disassemble)

DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
^ Tools Required:
- J 42156 Left Output Shaft Bearing Remover
- J 23907 Slide Hammer





1. Remove the output shaft seal from the left differential carrier cover.
2. Remove the output shaft seal from the right differential carrier cover.





3. Remove the left output shaft bearing from the left differential carrier cover using J 42156, and J 23907. Discard the bearing.

ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
^ Tools Required:
- J 36797 Output Shaft Seal Installer
- J 42157 Left Output Shaft Bearing Installer





1. Install the left output shaft bearing in the left differential carrier cover using J 42157 and a hydraulic press.





2. Install the new output shaft seal in the left differential carrier cover using J 36797.
3. Install the new output shaft seal in the right differential carrier cover using J 36797.
