Vacuum Reservoir HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.

2. Raise and support the vehicle

3. Remove the right front wheel assembly.

4. Remove the right front wheel house filler panel.

5. Remove the PCM.

6. Remove the vacuum tank (1) from the hinge pillar (3).

7. Remove the vacuum tank (1) from behind the fender.

8. Disconnect the vacuum line from the check valve (2).

9. Disconnect the check valve (2) from the vacuum tank (1).


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Connect the check valve (2) to the vacuum tank (1).

2. Connect the vacuum line to the check valve (2).

3. Install the vacuum tank (1) onto the hinge pillar (3).

3.1. Install the upper screw first, then install the lower screw.

3.2. Tighten the upper screw first, then tighten the lower screw.

- Tighten the vacuum tank screws to 3.5 N.m (31 lb. in).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the PCM.

5. Install the right front wheel house filler panel.

6. Install the right front wheel assembly.

7. Lower the vehicle.

8. Connect the negative battery cable.
