Muffler: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: Disconnect the negative battery cable.

1. Raise the vehicle and support.





2. Remove the rear stabilizer bar bolts, nuts and straps. Position the stabilizer bar downward.





3. Remove the intermediate exhaust pipe to the rear exhaust pipe bolts.





4. Remove the muffler from the muffler hanger.
5. Remove the muffler from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the muffler to the vehicle.





2. Install the muffler to the muffler hanger.





3. Install the intermediate exhaust pipe to the rear exhaust pipe bolts. Tighten the intermediate exhaust pipe to the rear exhaust pipe bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).





4. Reposition the rear stabilizer bar.
5. Install the rear stabilizer bar straps, bolts and nuts. Tighten the rear stabilizer bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Lower the vehicle.
6. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten the negative battery cable bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
