Right Side

REMOVAL





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise the vehicle and support.





3. Remove the RH intermediate exhaust pipe nuts from the exhaust manifold studs.
4. Remove the H02S.
5. Lower the vehicle.





6. Remove the following secondary air injection pipe components:
^ The bolts
^ The pipe
^ The gasket





7. Remove the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.





8. Remove the oil level indicator from the oil level indicator tube.
9. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt.
10. Remove the oil level indicator tube from the engine.





11. Remove the exhaust manifold, bolts and gasket.
12. Discard the gasket.

INSTALLATION





1. Install the exhaust manifold.
a. Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts a first pass to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.). Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts beginning with the center two bolts. Alternate from side-to-side, and work toward the outside bolts.
b. Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts a final pass to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts beginning with the center two bolts. Alternate from side-to-side, and work toward the outside bolts.
2. If the O-ring seal is damaged, install a new O-ring on to the oil level indicator tube.
3. Install the tube to the engine.
4. Rotate the tube into the proper position.
5. Install the ok level indicator tube bolt. Tighten the oil level indicator bolt to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the oil level indicator to the tube.





7. Install the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.





8. Install the following secondary air injection pipe components than tighten the AIR pipe bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.):
^ The gasket.
^ The pipe.
^ The bolts.
9. Raise the vehicle and support.
10. Install the HO2S.





11. Install the RH intermediate pipe flange to the exhaust manifold studs.
12. Install the intermediate pipe flange nuts. Tighten the intermediate pipe flange nuts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
13. Lower the vehicle.
14. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten the negative battery bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
