18. Throttle Body and Water Pump

CAUTION: Handle the electronic throttle control components carefully. Use cleanliness in order to prevent damage. Do not drop the electronic throttle control components. Do not roughly handle the electronic throttle control components. Do not immerse the electronic throttle control components in cleaning solvents of any type.

NOTE: DO NOT reuse the throttle body gasket. Install a NEW gasket during assembly.

THROTTLE BODY





1. Install the throttle body gasket to the intake manifold.
2. Install the throttle body and bolts. Tighten the throttle body bolts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
3. Install the vapor vent hose and clamp.

WATER PUMP

CAUTION: The use of sealing pellets (or similar compounds) in the coolant system is NOT recommended. The use of sealing pellets may restrict the flow of coolant through the throttle body or other engine cooling system components.

NOTE: All gasket surfaces to be free of oil or other foreign material during assembly.

1. Install the water pump and NEW gaskets.





2. Install the water pump bolts.
a. Tighten the water pump bolts first pass to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
b. Tighten the water pump bolts final pass to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





3. Install the water pump pulley and bolts.
a. Tighten the water pump pulley bolts a first pass to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
b. Tighten the water pump pulley bolts a final pass to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
