Removal
CAUTION: Use Only J 41803 Engine Support Fixture when supporting the engine. Do not jack anywhere on the engine or damage could result.^ Tools Required, or equivalent.

J 41803 Engine Support Fixture
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the generator from the accessory mounting bracket. See Starting and Charging.
3. Support the engine using a engine support fixture.
4. Raise the vehicle and support.
5. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies.
6. Remove the tie rod end nuts (3).
7. Remove the tie rod ends (5) from the steering knuckles (4) using a ball joint separator.
8. Remove the stabilizer bar bolts and straps.
9. Disconnect the stabilizer from the cradle.
10. Remove the P/S cooler bolts from the cradle.
11. Disconnect the P/S cooler from the cradle and slave it upward.
12. Remove the P/S gear retaining bolts.
13. Remove the P/S gear from the cradle and slave it upward.
14. Install a transverse leaf spring compressor to the spring.
15. Compress the Spring.
16. Remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolts.
17. Remove the lower ball joint nuts.
18. Separate the lower ball joints using ball joint separator.
19. Remove the transverse leaf spring compressor from the spring.
20. Disconnect all electrical from the front crossmember.
21. Remove the motor mount-to-front crossmember nuts.
22. Support the front crossmember with a bans jack.
23. Remove the crossmember nuts.
24. Remove the front crossmember from the vehicle.
25. Drain the oil from the engine.
26. Remove the ok filter from the engine.
27. Remove the automatic transmission cooler line bracket bolts. (if equipped)
28. Remove the engine flywheel housing to oil pan bolts.
29. Remove the engine flywheel housing cover bolts.
30. Disconnect the electrical and remove the engine oil level sensor.
31. Disconnect the engine oil temperature sensor connector.
32. Remove the oil pan.
