INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the brake caliper mounting bracket to the steering knuckle.
2. Install the two NEW brake caliper mounting bracket bolts and washers.
3. The new brake caliper mounting bracket bolts will come with an adhesive already applied to the threads.
- Tighten the front brake caliper mounting bracket bolts to 225 Nm (166 ft. lbs.).
CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement, or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and system.
4. Recheck the torque on both the brake caliper mounting bracket bolts immediately.
5. Allow the adhesive on the bolts to cure for two hours before moving the vehicle.
6. Install the brake caliper housing.
7. Install the caliper guide pin bolts.
- Tighten the brake caliper guide pin bolts to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
- Tighten the wheel nuts in sequence to 140 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
9. Lower the vehicle.
