CAUTION: When a hood hold-open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

Hood Strut Replacement: Removal Procedure:

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Open the hood and suitably support.
2. Pry outward on the retaining clip and pull the strut from the hinge upper ball stud.
3. Pry outward on the retaining clip and pull the strut from the lower ball stud.

Hood Strut Replacement: Installation Procedure:

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the strut with the rod end down.
2. Snap the upper socket onto the hinge upper ball stud.
3. Snap the lower strut socket onto the lower ball stud.
4. Remove support and close hood.
