Shift Solenoid: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Transmission oil pan and filter. Refer to "CHANGING TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER."
2. Accumulator cover bolts/screws (57 and 58).
3. 1-2 accumulator cover (62), piston (61) and springs (59 and 59A).
4. Component electrical connectors.
5. TCC PWM Solenoid Retainer Clip (379) and Solenoid (396).
6. TCC Solenoid bolts and solenoid with O-ring seal and wiring harness.
7. Pressure control solenoid retainer bolt/screw, retainer and solenoid.
8. Solenoid retainers (82) and shift solenoids (83).
9. Control solenoid retainer (85) and 3-2 control solenoid (86).
10. Dipstick stop bracket (93).
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Dipstick stop bracket (93).
2. 3-2 control solenoid (86) and retainer (85).
3. Shift solenoids (81) and retainers (85).
4. Pressure control solenoid (83), retainer (82) and retainer bolt/screw (84).
- Position pressure control solenoid win the electrical tabs facing outboard.
5. TCC Solenoid bolts and solenoid win O-ring seal and wiring harness.
6. TCC PWM Solenoid Retainer Clip (379) and Solenoid (396).
7. Component electrical connectors.
8. 1-2 accumulator piston (61) to the accumulator cover (62).
- Piston legs must face toward the case when installed.
9. 1-2 accumulator springs (59 and 59A) onto piston (61).
10. 1-2 accumulator cover (62) and accumulator cover bolts/screws (57 and 58).
Tighten
- Accumulator cover bolts/screws (57 and 58) to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).
11. Transmission oil pan and filter.
